Cevat Yerli created his first computer game at the age of 12 and founded his first company, Crytek, in 1997 at the age of 19. In 2000, Crytek disrupted the global gaming industry with the launch of CryEngine, the world’s first true real-time 3D platform.
This groundbreaking technology powered iconic titles such as Far Cry and Crysis, setting a new standard for visual fidelity and interactive simulation. CryEngine redefined the way 3D games and virtual experiences were built, becoming the blueprint for today’s most advanced game engines.
Under Yerli’s leadership, Crytek partnered with industry giants including Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Sony, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Oculus, and Google. His games and technologies generated over $5 billion in global consumer spending. In 2021, Crytek was acquired by Tencent, further cementing Yerli’s legacy as a pioneer in gaming and real-time 3D technology.
